I just got out of a meeting a few minutes ago. A few months ago I began working on a new project. I felt rather as an idiot on it, certainly overwhelmed, definitely under pressure. Seems I'm actually doing okay, given I just developed a proposal for how to improve aircraft operations outside of radar coverage. It's gotten the proverbial thumbs up internally. Past one more hurdle, it goes outside. We'll see how things go over the month. Near the end of the month I'll be meeting with people who will debate and accept or reject the proposal. Fwiw.
I'm so glad we have people like you in positions like yours!

Hi iKitten! Thank you!!!!!!!

This one is actually a bit messy and driven by people who want to do more than can be technically justified. My proposal says in essence here's what you can do and here's why you can do it. Beyond that, you have no basis for allowing aircraft to get any closer together. I've been in a similar spot a few times in the past, and that's okay. I won't make friends on this one, but that's okay. I do technology not politics. :D

Btw, how have you been? I hope you and your fiance have been well!

Good morning. It's just after 8AM here, around 20F/-7C. The work day should be okay, but the night will be fine. It's a D&D night, one of battling monsters and demons. I play a human druid, and we are in a cold environment (Frostburn for folks familiar with the game). I had a wolf companion, but he froze to death two gaming nights ago. I have not had the opportunity to get another, though I will do so if/when we get a break.

I hope everyone has an excellent day!

Stranded

I got sent home from work today. The wind here in oregon is so bad it blew several power lines off as well as a few roofs. 75-80 mph gusts and snow. There are people outside holding rail road crossing arms so they dont snap and limbs blowing across the road! I dont know how long I'll have power. This is by far the worst winds I have ever seen. People were getting blown over trying to get to there cars!

LOL,
this is going to sound really mean, but i LOVE strong winds.
Not so strong it does damage though.

Once i was camping and then the wind started HOWLING, and we were in our pop up camper and it felt like it was gonna blow over. Then we were looking outside and this 50-ish looking lady got out of her tent.
Which then ripped out of the ground and became airborne and blew away so fast--it was 20 feet in the air before you could say "uhhh".
This is going to sound mean-but it was the FUNNIEST thing!
Just her reaction-
Running, screaming "COME BACK, COME BACK!!!"
"NNOOOOOOO"
"STOP THAT TENNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTT!!!!!"
I laughed so hard i cried.
We invited her in our camper and played monopoly though.

FYI----Her husband and cat were in that tent, and they were never seen again :( .

Just kidding about that LOL.

We're awaiting 4 days of rain here in SoCal. It's starting to get a little cloudy and windy. I love rain. :)

Like Netty4mac said the liquid sunshine is on the way. The weather man miss it so far. He stated the rain would start last night. So we are in a waiting pattern.

Time to get some wood for the fireplace. :)

Eureka! It's especially cool when you find music you had totally forgotten about. You changed your pic again?

I'm buying a nicely used Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS in the next couple of days.

That's certainly a mouthful.

I have a 30D. I also have a 300D digital rebel, but I don't think I'll ever really be using it again unless the 30D breaks or has to be sent in. I really would like a 5D though. The IQ from the FF sensor is amazing. You can find those used for about $1700 now.

how is ruke? still too bad about that...

yeah, VI, a land camera, in working order, would be a pretty nifty find.

Woot, just got back from picking up my truck. First fill up was $70, but I love it so much more than my car.
