This has been a superlative week for me. Tonight was in keeping with the rest of the week.

Some of you know I play Dungeons and Dragons. Our game is every other Friday, but because of holidays we've discussed shifting a couple of the games. We exchanged many email messages talking about moving last Friday's game to tonight. Someone however mentioned another date, and last Friday's game, which was going to be shifted to tonight, got "shifted" to next Friday (cancelling it by virtue of the double shift).

The wording was something like, 'The next session is Dec 7.' Well of course it is, that was already scheduled. We'd play on Nov 30 and then again on Dec 7. What the person meant was that there would be no session on the 30th. I sent this to our mailing list:

Well I screwed up. We were talking about the 30th I thought and
suddenly we were on the 7th. Of course the 7th would be next. It
always was. It was the next game after the 23, which was possibly
being moved to the 30th. Except I discovered tonight that "next
session" didn't mean the next session after the 30th, but The Next
Session.

30 miles out in rush hour traffic and 30 miles back going against traffic, and I feel fine.

Idiot. :\

Hi Netty! Hope you feel better soon.

Today I'm working from home. Yay! Wife and daughter (and sis-in-law who is down for the weekend) are out for the day. I can work from the livingroom, brew a pot o' joe, turn on some tunes, and connect to the work machines.

<Leopard praise>Now I really love Spaces. I have one desktop for Firefox, one for Chicken of the VNC to connect to a Linux server at work, and one for Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a Windows 2003 server at work for my work email.</Leopard praise>

I hope everyone is doing well today!

Thor would be a cool name, 'cept people already have visions and expectations of that name in their mind. That be might be tuff to some extent.

Hey Netty, get to feelin better - the weekend is here now....

Ooh, workin' from home - that'd be great, but I'd have to invest in another $3k piece of equipment to do it.

Headed to the horse track tonite - company party - also give us $40 in track cash to bet with - turned it into $120 real money last year.. :D

Well going out last night was a bad idea. I was hungover today until 3pm. Now I'm feeling better, so I'm just lying around tonight taking it easy and surfing the web all night!

On the name Thor, one of my supervisors is named Thor. No joke. He's my Associate Department Head. While not exactly a god, he's okay. ^_^

I knew a guy named Thor. We gave him a hammer. HAHAHA

If you don't get the funny in it, look up Thor in Norse mythology.

I like mostly any kind of movie. I watched the original Die Hard the other night since it's getting close to Christmas. I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, maybe I'll watch Snatch or something like that.

I really want to see the new I Am Legend movie and Cloverfield.

I don't know what to get Nick for Christmas. I got him these 2 nice shirts at Old Navy thanksgiving weekend but I feel like I should get him something else.

This weekend he went to visit family in Las Vegas, NV. There is a Coach outlet there and he knows I absolutely love Coach and he called me earlier asking me some questions about what kind of colors I like from there. Now, its not for sure but I am going to feel really bad if he buys me something at Coach for Christmas and all I got him was clothes.

I know he needs new headphones for his iPod. Maybe I'll get him a pair at the Apple Store and include those in his gift.

By the way, we've only been dating 2 months, if that matters. haha :)

Guys like little things that have value. He'll appreciate the headphones, if he really needs them. The most important thing is being with him. I think he would appreciate time/care from you more than any gift.

Anyone can just buy someone something.

Just back from the track - it was a pretty good time.
Didn't make my $120 this year. Lost $24 of the $40 they give us on the first 2 races, so had to knuckle down.

Never pulled any cash out of my pocket and managed to turn that last $16 track cash into $112 real money - woo hoo - will pay for a good chunk of the new drive I'm gonna put in this MBP.
