Wish you the best of luck and joy with your new bf Netty, and wish you luck and hope that you and your ex can settle things maturely.
Good luck with your situation too, Todd51.
Relationships are tricky, and can potentially get messy.

I need some support myself peoples. During the summer, I joined this mentoring program at my local church. I'm pretty much helping kids from inner-city Baltimore, excel in school, develop their talents etc.
These are very talented kids, but talk about drama. Going to school, going to work, and then watching over these kids... I'm getting physically drained. I'm starting to fall asleep in class, and my diet consists of hot pockets and iced tea (It's what they serve at the church for dinner). And I'm noticing my belly is starting to expand a bit cause of it.
I can't quit either, cause I've grown too attached to these kids and I really truly want to see them succeed.
Ironically though, this is what I always wanted to do. Teach and help people. I was a sec. education major, but quit that cause it was just way too much work. Guess I spoke way too soon eh? I love what I do, and wish I could stop working (as a grease monkey). But everything I'm doing now is critical that I can't just give up.

I need a drink.

Just realized I have no $$ for a Guinness...

Oh man, BIG physics test today at 1 o'clock. We have a review during lecture and taking the exam during out lab hours. I hope it goes smoothly, I always need to do good on the first test of the semester, that way I don't have to work my butt off to get my grade up.
How'd the Physics test go? Had many in my time ;D

Hey leecho, when you NEED a drink is absolutely the worst time to have a drink. Hang tough man.

Meantime, it sounds like you are making a really positive contribution in the lives of some kids who really need it. That is great. But never forget yourself in all of this. In order to continue making that positive contribution, you may need to scale it back a bit so as to not burn yourself out.

It is like working too hard for too long at a job; you can't keep it up forever. Don't ever forget to make some time for yourself and take care of yourself!

Hi TS! Feel free to pick my brain anytime (assuming there's anythng in there besides cobwebs).

Hope everyone is well. Things here have been hectic but I guess I can't complain. Sorry I've not spent as much time roaming the forum in the last few days. Everything is fine, I'm just a little busy.

Later!

Not as bad as I had thought it was going to be! Thanks for asking! :)

I'm so tired and I'm ready for it to be the weekend. We get this Friday off for classes, so I'm thinking about picking up a shift at work Thursday night, then heading home either after work or Friday morning. I need to clear my head from my little situation that has been going on. I appreciate all the help with it guys, really I needed people to vent too and you guys are great listeners, even though you were forced to ;)

Well I'm going to bed, g'night all!

OHHH man, I almost missed my midterm this morning! Well here's what happened, I have my phone charger cord that lays on my night-stand and is wrapped around my alarm clock so that it doesn't keep falling back behind the night-stand. Apparently when I pulled the cord to me last night to plug my phone in, it turned down the volume knob on my alarm clock. Wouldn't you know it that my alarm went off at the regular time but the volume was turned down so I didn't hear it! Thankfully, the GA (graduate assistant) in the class knew me pretty well and called me which woke me up. I threw some pants on and rushed over there, I was half an hour late. Everyone was already done, haha.

Scarrryyyy morning...at least I have nothing else to do today except lie around and go to work tonight.

Nice to hear you made it. I hate being late for stuff. I'm the one that gets there a half an hour too early after a sleepless night....I hope the mid terms went well

Well I've done nothing today. It's one of those days where I've just been thinking about everything. I couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather here, it's about 60 degrees with a slight breeze.

I watched the movie Stranger Than Fiction, I really like that movie. I think the plot is really cool and original. I guess I could be doing homework today, but I think I've had a good start on it the past couple of days. Thankfully I don't have any more exams during the next couple of weeks, just 2 projects to get done. One of which is about 90% done and the other I have yet to start.

I wish my roomates weren't busy today so that way they would go do something with me outside. It's so nice out and I'm stuck here in my apartment with nothing to do.

Hope you feel better Mina, I hate being sick :p

I just got back from hockey practice, and we finally got our jerseys!! I got number 13 and as you can tell by my username, that is what I wanted! Our first game is Saturday, then we have another one Sunday. I'm hoping to play right wing, but I'll see what position I get.

Hope everyone is well!

Well, I had to have another talk with my now ex b/f. He called me 4 times when I was off work. I guess he wasn't clear if we were just on a break or a permanent break up. I don't know, it was odd, he wasn't taking it well. He kept telling me that we should work it out and blah, blah, blah. But I was firm with him and told him I didn't want to try to work it out anymore.

Wow, talk about a flashback! I had the same thing happen on a midterm when I was in college. Got there half hour late! Passed but got a lower grade than I would've because of the strain. ;D

Mina-man, so sorry you're sick! Drink lots of water and get as much rest as possible (sorry, it's the tape that runs in my head from my dad saying it EVERY TIME I was feeling badly!)

Netty, you're handling the situation so well. I hope this doesn't seem condescending, but I'm proud of you. {{virtual hug}}

Aww thanks iKitten! :) Things with the new guy Nick are going good. We're taking things slow which I really like because I don't want to rush into another relationship.

Hey guys.

I'm testing out a new Wii software update. It's pretty cool. Now the Wii can use USB keyboards, making the internet function much more useful for me.

Netty, I'm happy for you that things are going well with nick!

Hey everyone, its been another busy couple of days filled with interesting experiences. Well first off, good news, I got a 95% on my Physics exam which was one of the highest grades, so that's always awesome.

Last night I got off work and the roomates and I decided to go grab one beer to relax since we all had crazy days. Well of course ONE beer turned into one pitcher. ONE pitcher turned into FOUR pitchers. By the end of the night I was at a girls house with my old roomate just hanging out. Didn't get home till four in the morning, then had to wake up and go to class all day today, plus another shift tonight at work.

The other girl who has been giving me confusing problems finally got back to me ready to talk, but we just haven't been able to catch each other this evening, so she said she was going to call me on Sunday when we both get back into town. Everyone is going home since we don't have classes tomorrow. So we'll see how that goes on Sunday.

As for the rest of the weekend, tomorrow I'm taking off around 1, grabbing a haircut on my way home and then I think I'm just going to relax all weekend. It's supposed to be nice and cool out, maybe I can convince my dad to go shooting again or something, that always helps relieve stress :)

I just got done watching Smokin Aces and now I believe I'm heading to bed, get a good ten or eleven hours of sleep tonight :)

EDIT: Oh and congratulations on clearing things with your ex, Netty! Glad things are going okay for you! Babarnette, thanks for the concerns on the girl situation, I'll be sure to keep everyone updated after the weekend.
