This time off allows me time to prepare for a new Dungeons and Dragons campaign that begins a week from tonight. Whee!!!!!! The character I'll play is a male human druid with a wolf companion. We're in a northern area prone to harsh winters.

Sounds like fun. Never played D&D. When it came out didn't have time as my roommate and myself were the local champions of several games. He in Monopoly. Myself in Risk. The two of us reigned supreme in spades for two years taking on all comers. Averaged prob 10 games a day during that time - never lost a best of 3 - and only 5 games total during that time span.

Then there was the Frisbee Golf. What a great game. Designed a couple of courses at the local colleges - one of which is still in use 30 plus years later.

Oh, and then the Avalon Hill games of the day - man those college years were a fun time.

Oh my, Oh my! 3 of my fish have died! Not all at once but throughout the week. I just got them on sunday! I'm angry and sad. I'm going back to petco this week. They have a 15 day guarantee, I'm getting my money back.

Maybe I did something wrong, :( I was so excited for these fish. I was hoping that they would last me a long time. I guess fancy fish are not always what they are up to be.

I always loved Monopoly. I played it as a kid, and still play it today. In college it was chess and backgammon. I was never good at chess, but played it nonetheless. I was vicious with backgammon, and would put people into a "back game" if I was losing. That's a good way to reverse the outcome of a game.

I never played Risk, and never played any of the Avalon Hill games. Frankly I'd never been exposed to them; had I, I'm sure I'd have played them.

D&D I picked up just a little over two years ago. I'm a late starter on that one, but it is fun.

Oooh, M-O, where's a good backgammon for Mac? Is there a good free one? (If so, I haven't found it.) That's the game I've missed the most since switching to Mac.

Speaking of board games, I just got done playing a couple rounds of Pictionary. Some pretty funny quotes came out of that game from my friends.

Have you tried the one that came with your MacBook? Go to Applications> Big Bang Board Games and you'll find Big Bang Backgammon. You can play against the computer, play against someone else with your own computer, and supposedly play against someone online. While the Big Bang games aren't perfect, they're pretty good. My complaint with them is that they sometimes limit your moves and force you to attack even if you choose not to do so. This happens a lot with BB Checkers.

Apparently, I'm losing weight and not even trying. I came back this weekend to work and everyone was saying that I looked thinner. I don't know. I guess it's because I've been studying so much that I only really eat one meal a day and I walk everywhere. It's cool I guess, I didn't really try to lose weight, I don't really have to lose weight, but I guess I am.

Hi TC99! Losing weight is cool, but make sure you eat both enough and well. Walking is very good and healthy for you, but not eating enough *will* catch up with you. Vitamins, especially a daily multi-vitamin helps to ensure decent health. Make sure you take care of yourself!!!

Alright guys, I have a new picture. What do you think of it? The DoF is not the greatest, but I think it's still nice.

BD, I like the pic.

Wow, I just found out that my Intermediate Macroeconomics professor was a Teacher's Assistant for Ben Bernanke. So that makes me two degrees away from the Fed Chairman.
