$1.60/gal is cheap compared to here.. It's about 3-4x that much in Canada, easily.

I think prices here are now about $0.80/liter (gallon being 3.8L)

same here in MN - was about $4, now about 1.60

if the government were smart, they would have added a .50/gal tax on the way down, people would have barely noticed and we could have had a lot of public works jobs done, employing lots of people who need the jobs.

The gas prices are very frightening. Not that I don't like them, but it says a LOT about the economy. Demand is way down, people aren't driving, things are getting stagnant.

People think that's a good thing! Not too many people realize that we are currently in a recession.

Actually, at lot of people realize it. In fact, most people do.

In Michigan, we've been in a recession for AGES, so most people here don't notice it because nothing has really changed.

I don't realize a recession as much because I am still in college and the only loans I have are student loans, but I can certainly see its impact on the community around me.

Wow.. When I went to school about 3 years ago... I had to have at least a 3.0 GPA to be able to keep receiving money from my government student loan.

How aboot that, eh?

i had the same deal as darkart, but that was because my first semester i had a 1.87 GPA - they said if i didn't keep a 3.0 every semester until i was averaging a 3.0 i'd lose my scholorship (half my school paid). i left in four years with a 3.5.

Woot, I just sold my iPod Nano 2nd gen (4GB) for €86,00 on eBay!
And I bought a iPod 5G 30GB from a friend for €50, quite the deal.

You'll find soon enough that I am like a reality show.

Just when you think you get the main plot, everything changes.
