got back from Texas! (not now, actually I arrived home at 2:00) it was alright. I arrived at the Dallas Fort Worth airport (I heard the land mass was larger than NYC) and I stayed at my cousin's house, who, by the way, lives in a 1.2 million dollar house. wow. Umm I stayed in a guest house right outside of the pool in their backyard (which wasnt a house, since it didnt have a bathroom) which was cool too. Lets see... what else... oh I went to he Stonebriar mall, spent too much money at Dave and Busters, aand got to go up to my uncles office, which apparently had the state senator on the 13th floor -- the floor right above my uncle -- so that was neat. Overall, I had a great time! :)

and also, today I went to see Hellboy 2, which was alright. I give it an 8 out of 10. Seemed sort of thrown together, not much involved, looked like they just sort of came up with an idea and thrown it into the movie, then put it in order and BAM. It was good, but not good enough to buy the DVD.

And (a late one) congrats on your engagement, skye!

OH and congrats on getting the job, babarnette!

:D

well, been away for a week or so...
just busy with life.

our data center in the US is assuming control of best buy canada and future shop operations, and it is a mess.

also, i went in for one of those sleep studies to determine how much sleep i'm losing to apnea and snoring. it was, to put it mildly, very bad.
so i've been trying one of those "cpap" machines to clear up my apnea. seems to be working so far.

My wife's sister's husband has one of those too, Eric. His is pretty bad as well, enough to where he even stopped breathing sometimes. But with that machine, he sleeps a lot better.

I might need to do a sleep study myself. I have broken sleep. It's common for me to wake up 1-10 times a night.

if you know you wake up 1-10 times, you're likely waking up even more and you don't even know it. does your wife say you snore loudly or stop breathing sometimes? if so, it's definitely worth it to get checked out.

It was so bizarre. I was in the classroom with the kids and it felt like a wave. They had to get under their desks and then we had to evacuate. It wasn't too strong but it still caught us off guard.:p

Yea I saw that on the news today. I've only experienced one earthquake in my life and that was back in April. The first one in central Illinois in a LOOONG time.

As of now I'm sitting here watching the Cubs/Brewers game. I just got done setting up my aunt's wireless router. I have the SSID broadcast off and WPA Personal encryption enabled, so she should be set!

I felt an earthquake once in my life. I was staying with a friend in L.A. for a week in 1995, and got woken up by an aftershock from the 1994 earthquake that made a mess out of L.A. Felt like a truck was driving through the apartment below us. I'll always remember it because it was the morning of my 30th birthday. Way to ring in a new decade of life, huh?

You're probably right. I wouldn't disagree with that. My wife says I do snore, but not that loud. Occasionally it's loud, but not that often. She's never said I stopped breathing, so apparently my symptoms aren't that severe. I'll talk to my bro-in-law and find out more info.

I was in Corona when it hit. I was walking at the time, so all i felt was the initial jolt.

If there's one thing I learned about parenting, is it takes a lot of patience. Sometimes I wish I had a remote (like Adam Sandler in Click) to fast forward my girls' growth to 5 years old. Skip all the whining, crying, tantrums and not eating what's on their plate. Ugh. It really gets to us.

I mean, can you imagine if adults were like that?

iwhat: Schweb, finish your dinner!
schweb: NO!!
iwhat: Then you don't get another beer.
schweb: Waaaaaaaaaaaahhh!!!:'( :Shouting:

That's a problem we're facing at the moment: not eating. The 1 yr old is understandable, several teeth are cutting in all at once. But with the almost 3 yr old there is just no excuse. We dread whenever it's time to eat. She's eager to fill up on snacks and junk, but I'm sure that occurs with just about every child. We tell her, "No eat, no treat." Any advice or tips on how you got your kid(s) to eat their meal?

I don't enjoy giving schweb anything to drink that ends with him bloated and begging to be burped on my lap.

No, no tips - it's pretty much the same thing with my 3 year old. Although he will eat pretty well as long as it's something he likes. Make anything other than the standard pasta, chicken or beef and forget about it.

So just broke up w/ the girl friend because we are going to be on other sides of the US for college. Not as bad as I thought it would be...course it could be cause I already basically going out w/ this other girl that is close enough (distance wize) to not worry bout cutting it off.

Am I a horrible person for basically having a "back up" plan/ already being w/ someone so quick?

It's funny how a variation of one item can pass as a "don't want it." Such as potatoes: mashed vs baked, stewed or fries. She loves mashed and fries, but a baked potato or one from a stew, forget about it. It's a POTATO!!! You like them!! Jeez.
