Thanks guys, the interview went great. I should know something by the end of this week. I'm really excited and hope I get the job!

Edit: I just got a email from them, they want me to come in for a second interview Wednesday!

Congrats! Sounds like you have a great chance at getting the job. It would probably be a fun job anyways, getting to deal with Macs all day. :Smirk:

Thanks Todd, it should be a nice change of pace after 6 years in the Army. It will definitely be more fun and less stressful.

Cool! Congrats on the 2nd interview. At least that sounds promising. Good luck once more.

You know what really sucks?

Having all the money you've been saving up just disappear because you have to fill up your gas tank.

My savings account is now at a $0 balance because of gas prices, and I had a decent chunk stashed away.

;_;

I need a new car, but if I haven't got the money for a new car, I can't buy one.

I know how you feel too. I'm taking the bus to work as much as possible during the days. Once the fall semester starts back up, I will be walking to classes like always, only using the car to get groceries and go to the parent's house. Gas is ridiculous, I need to come up with a way to get rich so I don't have to worry about it anymore.

Okay guys, sorry for breaking off from the conversation, but I need opinions really badly!!! (bad grammar?)

I made a big project on GarageBand about some of the custom keyboards I do on there, (yes I do talk a lot in it) and I put it up on my MySpace band profile.

Right now, I'm still trying to figure out how to get comments for the song working, so ignore me talking about it the the "song". Actually, ignore my voice altogether in it, because I'm really just telling you about the songs I make.

The "song" is called Custom Compilation 1

and you can find it here:

GarageBand SkIRmish

You can listen to the other songs I have on there, but I mainly want feedback on the Custom Compilation 1.

Thanks guys. Any feedback is much appreciated :)

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

The family is scheduled to arrive around 11am today to see their new home in West Chester, Ohio. I'd like to be there for the reveal, but I get off work at 7am, and I'm  at that time. You can see photos and stories of its progress on local news websites. You may need to do a search for Akers Family.

So last night I spent about an hour on the phone with one of my old friends. He called me up because the Internet wasn't coming up in his web browser, when all he did was move his computer from one room, to another so it could be closer to the wireless router. Once I explained to him on how to log into his router, I told him to go to the port forwarding tab. Turns out, there were a couple of ports forwarded that I know he never created since he didn't even know he could access his router settings. Someone had port-forwarded WoW (I'm assuming World of Warcraft).

I walked him through the steps of securing his router. I still can't believe there are people out there who know NOTHING about wireless security. No wonder his Internet was slow all the time I was over there, his neighbors were setting up their own WoW games online through his connection.

Turns out he had ZoneAlarm on and for some reason when he shut his computer down, it added IE to the list of items to block.

Lesson of the day: Secure your wireless router!

I was browsing through Apple software, and I crossed upon an enterprise version of Apple Care. the highest Apple Care I found was worth $50,000. ($49,995 rounded)

From what I read, it's some kind of server software support.

I'm a complete n00b when it comes to techy computer stuff, so anyone computer savvy like to help me out here? Why is it worth $50,000??

Crap! I forgot about that stuff!! Yeah, that is logical. And for some reason, looking at business owner's perspective, that seems like a good price!

Thanks

Okay yeah in our basement there's a low point in the ceiling where the air ducts are, and there's a chair that sits underneath that. Well for some reason I decided to stand on it, and my head just slammed into the ceiling.

That's right, I forgot about that thing called a ceiling, and hit my head on it.

Pretty sad right?

thats not a lot compared to the skate shop I go to. They charged me $55 for a hoody, and like $45 for 1 pair of pants.

Yes I got both on the same day :p

It's probably a 4-hour turnaround time for server outages (including dispatch of parts after-hours and on holidays and weekends).
