Saw, The Happening. His worst film to date.

Really? Worse than "The Village"?

I like The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable and Signs (in the theater, where the sound is good), but the rest just haven't been all that great IMO.

I would have to say, he's my favorite director. I love Hitchcock's thrillers and am glad to see someone nowadays keep up his "style."
The Village was good. Signs was OK. Lady in the Water was meh. I was really hoping this new one would be like his older movies. I like movies most people don't and dislike most of the mainstream.

Absolutely. I was going to include I read someone post ( on a forum - maybe here?) the movie was really scary - I sat there waiting for the scary part that never came. I couldn't help but wonder why Mark Wahlberg (and Zooey Deschanel) accepted the roles. I figured Wahlberg either had one heck of a bar tab somewhere or, Shyamalan offered him an insane amount of money to take the role? Everything about that movie from beginning to end was totally lame.

IMHO, The Village was a joke...it could have possibly been the biggest movie let down I have ever experienced.

I'm still trying to decide if I liked the ending to that movie or not. I will say that it surely did scare the crap out of me a couple of times when I watched it. I think Signs was his best movie.

As for the Village, I think it was an "Okay." movie. It would have been a better movie, if it was incomplete with the credits rolling in about 3/4 into the movie.

I liked Signs too, but not on DVD (at least not in my family room, where I don't have a home theater setup). The big thing with that movie was the subtle noises you hear during the scenes in the corn fields and around the house. With surround sound, it really adds to the tension - without it, it's really kind of lame.

I completely agree. I watched that movie on a Sunday afternoon with one of my friends. Thankfully it wasn't dark when I walked out of that theatre!

w00t! Only 3 more hours of work left today! I've really haven't done very much of anything either, it has been very unproductive.

unbreakable was still his best in my opinion.

i did really like the village, i still liked it when i knew the "reality". watched a few times, looking for clues and to watch someone else i know see it for the first time - that was fun. still haven't seen the new one or lady in the water. but they're on my list.

Unbreakable used to be my favorite. An ex used to make fun of me and tell me how much she hated it. I haven't watched it since.
I love his movies but I can really only watch them once. The suspense is kinda gone the second time around.

The suspense in Happening is totally lame. You sit there waiting for some sign to the 3 act play and it never materializes. Honestly, this was not only his worst film, it is now in my top 2 most boring films ever. I was telling someone today, it's like Shyamalan had taken pages from his scripts "The Sixth Sense", and "The Village" which he had to omit for one reason or another and pieced them into this load of garbage. With that said, I was thinking of finding a way to ask Shyamalan how, or who financed the movie. Because if he can convince some fool to give him a Milliion plus for that script, I sure could too.

I love scary movies! But lately I've lost track of them. Last movie I saw was Don't Mess With The Zohan. :)

How was that movie? It seemed like it could be pretty funny.

It was good. I was laughing the whole time. It's kind of silly. Sorry I'm not good at explaining movies but you should watch it! :)

Yeah, I want to see that one. Hancock looks really good too. Now, if only I could find a decent babysitter.... Kiersten and I need a date night, it's been awhile.

I got so excited. I found open box 1TB HD's on newegg for $88. Not a misprint. However, there is 15 day return policy and no warranty from Seagate. I don't want to risk it.

Wow, but that is an awesome deal. Just kinda scary that there's no warranty. If you're only using it as a backup drive, I guess that's not so bad.

I'd go for it. Seagate is a pretty reliable company so you probably won't need the warranty anyway.

Not that I could go fill 2TB today, looking for 2 matching drives, but I need some more certainty than "probably." Their standard 5 year warranty is quite comforting. The fact that they are over 50% off with almost no return policy or warranty is pretty unnerving.
i'd rather take my chances with my one 750GB drive for another month or two until I can drop some cash on a new set of drives I know I can rely on.
