Upgrading

After doing some research and asking some questions here and also discussing with the wife, it was agreed upon that I can go the less expensive route of upgrading my G4 iMac to Leopard. I will finally be up-to-date and will no longer have to do some hard-to-find searching for certain Panther freeware stuff. It started with "what would you like for Xmas: a digital camcorder or Nintendo Wii?" My wife wanted the Wii. Okay. :D We can still use our VHS-C camcorder, but I will have to get an A2D converter for it. Most that I've found required Tiger and above. :Grimmace: Handbrake for Panther is no longer available (at least I can't find it anywhere). Plus games and other misc. stuff I'd like to get but can't. So I thought, time for an upgrade? Thanks to certain members here I found out that my G4 iMac can support Leopard, but increasing the RAM is a necessity. Although an Intel iMac would be sweeter, we just can't spend the money on one at this time. So I told my wife my intentions, I can keep my iMac for another 5 years or so and then when OS X1 Praying Mantis (insects will be the new thing) comes out, I can get a brand new computer. All is well and happy in my household. Got 1GB sodimm RAM on ebay, I'm hoping to get it in Friday's mail. I'll keep checking ebay for low buy now prices for Leopard. Soon I will be among you elite folks and bask in the glory of greatness. ;D

Hey friends! Happy friday to all! I hope everyone is well.

Any exciting plans for the weekend?? I think it's going to be a slow one for me. Nick is going to one of his hardcore shows this saturday. I might just see him at his hockey game in the morning. Uggh, it sucks because most of my girlfriends are either married, have a baby, or are engaged. Its really hard for us to hang out. Sometimes I feel a bit lonely. Maybe I need a new set of single friends..hehe :)

Howdy Netty. I'm taking my 3 year old to his first movie tomorrow morning - Kung Fu Panda. Not sure how he'll do, but I can't imagine there will be too many people in the theater at 9:55am. Besides, he loves popcorn and will usually sit quietly until it's all gone.

Sounds like fun! I haven't seen Kung Fu Panda but it looks funny. :)

This weekend is Angels vs. Dodgers weekend. Sadly, I'm not going to any of the games but I'll be rooting for the LA Dodgers from home. :)

Goodness do I miss going to a Phillies game. Weekend plans? Continuing to hide from this sand storm and wandering the desert :) I forgot that it was Saturday already, I've been way more focused with how many days until July (I can start saying "be home next month" once that gets here!)

cwa107, Kung Fu Panda was a pretty good movie, I saw it last weekend!

This weekend has been pretty quiet for me too. I'm the only one here at the house until Tuesday. I REALLY need to get outside and do some yardwork. I've been a bum all day today. I slept in until 12 and then sat around and watched TV until right about now. Maybe I'll get some work done around 6:30 when it starts to cool off for the evening. It's so hot here in Texas!

Yeah, it was pretty good - of course, I didn't see all of it between 2 trips to the potty and him being antsy and wanting to leave for the last 20 minutes of the movie. But all-in-all, not too bad for a 3 year old.

How funny! I've been a bum today too. I slept late, still wearing my pajama shirt. I put my hair up in a pony tail and I'm not wearing make-up. :)

Haha, well I finally went outside to do some yardwork to make myself feel better. I just got out of the shower, now I don't know what to do at all.

The bad part about sleeping in so late is that now I won't be able to fall asleep until around 2am, which thus starts the cycle over since I don't have to get up for anything tomorrow. :)

I really need to find things to do on the weekends down here.:|

Yes, I would say that is really good for a 3-year-old! My little cousin doesn't sit through anything and he's 4!

I really want to see the Wall-E movie also, that looks like it could be pretty entertaining. I hope it's not one of those types of movies where all the funny parts are in the movie trailers. I hate it when that happens!

I feel like a lot of junk food and soda along with a good movie. I'm gonna head to the nearest gas station.

Hey todd, what part of Texas are you in. I lived in Texas for a little over a year and loved it. That Texas sun is a killer though.
