Sounds like you had a pretty exciting day, Tanner. :) Mine was nothing special. Went for a long walk this morning, took a nap, and I've basically been lazing around the whole day since.

Tanner, you bring back memories of when I took Driver's Ed, lo, these many years ago. I remember what my friend, who's two year's older than I am, told me when I started. "Driver's Ed doesn't teach you how to drive, it teaches you how to pass your road test." :D

Let us know how it goes at the doctor. You know how we all worry about you.

Hey all,

Just wanted to share my experience in installed the SP2 for Win xp ;)

This morning I was studying at the uni library for my exams and I thought I would do the monthly update for my Win XP machine. This time I got the option of applying the SP3 which I did.
You can look at the results from the attached file :p

I got that because I was using a soft to change the visual style of Windows which isn't supported under the SP3. The funny part is that when I tried to go back to a regular Windows style I found out that all windows appeared with a black content so I spent like 20 min or more to reset the display with clicking randomly and trying to remember the position of the button lol

Now I'm back with the old Windows Style (not XP) :p as I've always hated the XP style

I really enjoy reading your stories, Tanner. Very entertaining. I'll chalk up your driving lesson as too much excitement that you forgot to post that it's my birthday today. :'(

Only 45 minutes left and it's over. We just went to Bob Evans for dinner. Nothing special.

What?!
WHAT?!
WHAT?!??!?!!?!

DID IT SAY ON THE HOME PAGE?!
HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THAT?!?!???!?!?! I CHECK FOR BIRTHDAYS RELIGIOUSLY EVERY DAY, I'VE BEEN ITCHING TO START A BIRTHDAY THREAD FOR SOOOOO LONG, BUT EVERY TIME IT'S A BIRTHDAY IT'S EITHER
1) THAT MEMBER HAS'T BEEN HERE SINCE THE PLACE WAS STARTED BY THE DINOSAURS. :p
2) THAT MEMBER IS GONE.

UGH.
UGH
UGHHHHHHHH

Or maybe I just didn't equate your user name to YOU.
Usually I look at the name, if I know it I post it. If I don't, usually I don't or I look at the profile.
UGH.
HOW COULD I HAVE MISSED THIS ONE?!

It seems like birthdays aren't as common anymore!

I'll make one anyway, because i'm AWESOME.

Anyway, my doctor thing.

Well apparently I went to a PEDIATRICIAN (***), and so they didn't know a lot of what I was talking about. I explained it the best I could.
It felt like the people wanted to get me in and out of there as fast as possible.
She didn't even LISTEN to me breathe.....
Anyway, she asked me a bunch of questions, did height and weight (my scale at home is 4 pounds off...in a bad way.) and all that.
She said everything seemed fine, and it was annoying.

Obviously she can say that, SHE'S NOT THE ONE NOT ABLE TO FREAKIN' BREATHE!
It was annoying.

I have to go back to have some tests done, but she gave me a 'script (My house has over 12 prescriptions a month, we use that word so much we abbreviate it) for Prilosec OTC (Not sure I spelled that right). I don't know what that's supposed to do. She said just in the off chance it's heartburn, but after all that TALKING we did I thought we had eliminated that as a problem but apparently not...

But yeah, I have some tests soon. I think i'm going to a cardiologist soon too. Overall it was a very annoying experience.

Oh, and the first thing she said when she walked in was "WOW, YOUR FEET ARE LIKE PURPLE!" and she became obsessed with that.
Okay, I was sitting on the table and my feet were hanging there for so long, how could they NOT get purple?
But my feet have been like that for a LONG time, years...my arms sometimes too. She was way more concerned about that than anything else...sure, WHO CARES IF HE'S BREATHING, AS LONG AS HIS FEET AREN'T PURPLE. Ugh.
The pharmacy was closed so we couldn't fill the scripts, but I doubt that'll do anything, we're getting all 3 months worth anyway because she wrote a prescription for 3 months, so we get 3 months worth for the price of ONE months co-pay. If it doesn't do anything we'll have a bunch left over for my parents LOL.

As for careers.. I'm starting my own design company with my lover in about a year or so. We'll be doing everything from simple designs to vehicle wraps and stickers. On top of that, I have a lot of ideas/designs I've been workign on for a merch line I'm starting as well. Which I'm going to propose to many Canadian stores to have as an "exclusive-to-them" line of clothes, belts ,buckles, bandanas, stickers, hats, etc.

I drew this up in Illustrator for a friend of mine. She's seriously getting it as a tattoo within the next few weeks. I think that'll look great in my portfolio. :)

I haven't seen any new posts from the mysterious M0RB0. Perhaps he got the info he needed to make his homemade movie and left our despicable planet.

My parents hate me, at least, I think so.

I got screamed at about not saving money, because I have a gear fetish, where I'm always lusting after that perfect piece of equipment.

(As a side note, I have been saving, just as my mother advised me to. She's just angry that I'm saving her suggested amount.)

Well folks, I found it. I found my guitar.

Not just like, a guitar I bought.

No.

A guitar that was destined from sapling to sales to be mine.

I got it today, and my mom is confused/angry that I'd spend $200 on a guitar.

What she's not really seeming to get is that it's a $500 guitar that I purchased WELL below normal retail.

It's beautiful, it sounds great, and most importantly, it's a real guitar, not a beginner kid's guitar.

I'm seriously just glowing right now.

I had to put it down to eat, and so I decided to update all of you.

I'll post a photo when I get around to taking one, but, MAN, this is MY GUITAR.

My family is ANNOYING ME!

All I want to do is take a freakin' nap, but noooooooo.
My mom decided to tell me to do my chores.
My chores for this week consist of:
1) Picking up my parents dirty clothes in their bathroom.
2) Vacuuming my parents bedroom/bathroom.
3) Dishes
4) Feed all animals.

Not that bad, but I HATE doing the stuff in my parents room!
I mean, they just throw their dirty clothes all willy-nilly all over the place, even though yesterday I CLEARLY put a laundry basket in their closet with "DIRTY" written on it...even I manage to put my dirty clothes in a basket...
I went to go vacuum their room and found it impossible because of the MESS. Magazines lying everywhere, bowls, cups, food, dog bones, all that.
I said "I'll vacuum your room, but I can't vacuum when there's all that stuff laying around."
She got snippy with me, she told me to clean it up or vacuum around it, which would be kind of hard.
It was 86 degrees inside, it was hot, we were cranky.
I don't feel like cleaning up after THEIR mess, i'll do some things, but they can work with me. I did my brother chores instead of my parents room, because my brother never does his...

Then when I finally go to take my nap my mom decides she needs help running an ANCIENT computer game. I don't know why she doesn't look on the box for a year. When the requirements consist of "A hard drive" I would consider how far technology has come.
Never got it to work. Installed fine, wouldn't launch. I really didn't care.
She got angry at me again for not caring.

Now at this point i'm laying in my bed for like 10 minutes when my brother tells me dinner is here.
Fine, i scarf down some pizza and retreat to my room.
Then my mom comes banging on my door..."DO YOU WANT TO WATCH A MOVIE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!"
That's the worst part.
We have this huge unfinished room in our basement they go when it's hot upstairs, and it has a projector and about 10 years worth of old couches in it.
It echoes. And they have it UNREALISTICALLY LOUD!
I CAN FEEL MY WALLS SHAKING WITH THE BASS. I CAN UNDERSTAND EVERY SINGLE FREAKIN' WORD MORGAN FREEMAN IS SAYING.
I have 2 box fans on high, and I still know EXACTLY what's going on.
Then I realize i'm no longer going to sleep.
I figure i'll go to do some miles on the exercise bike, which I find mysteriously GONE.
Probably in there with them, because apparently annoying me with loud movies isn't enough, they need to take away my physical well-being too!
Okay, that was a little exaggerated, but I'M TIRED/CRANKY.

They always try to move things in/out of that exercise room, because nobody EVER uses it except me.
They put boxes and stuff in there all the time. It's not finished, just a space in the basement, but it has a square of carpet that's considered THE ROOM.
They always try to take the bike out, move the rower, put the elliptical somewhere else.
IT
MAKES
ME
SOOOOO
ANGRY.

They KNOW I use that religiously. Do they care? NO.
There are some things you just don't mess with.
I've worked with them on a lot of things. I gritted my teeth when they got that projector and started watching movies literally all hours of the (school) nights. I didn't say anything when my mom moved her computer in the exercise room.
I kept everything in my head whenever my brother would stack BOXES on BOXES of random useless stuff saying "TYLER'S STUFF FOR FUTURE" right in the middle of the room.
I kept my cool when they confiscated all lamps/light bulbs in there except ONE.
I never said anything when they swiped the VCR, stereo, AND DVD player...]

And another thing.
We have this shih tzu (a dog) and I WANT IT GONE.
WE WANT IT GONE.

1) It bites...
2) It's not potty trained at all. It refuses. We let it outside, then it comes inside and goes to the bathroom.
3) For some reason it PUKES EVERYWHERE. It's favorite place is on couches/beds.
4) It barks ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT.
5) It eats garbage, toilet paper, candles, anything. If it can find it, it'll eat it.
6) My dad spoiled it, so whenever we eat a meal it jumps on us and barks, until my dad gives it table food.

The story:
My mom got it when my parents weren't living together. We got it as a puppy. We trained it and everything, it was a relatively good dog. We got it in the summer.
When school/work time came (my moms a bus driver), we realized we hadn't thought about what we would do with Weezer. Weezer is it's name, it came from a heavy smoker's home, and Wheezer doesn't look right.
As school went on, he was alone most of the day.
My mom decided we should give it away because we weren't able to give it enough attention.
At that time, I was at my dads house every Wednesday and every other weekend.
That wednesday, I walked into my dads house and saw it sitting right there.
I thought "Oh great. Well, maybe it can work..."
It was a good dog then, relatively speaking.

Well, that's when it turned into a HORRIBLE MONSTER.
First came the spoiling. My dad LOVES that dog. My dad spoils it way too much.
When we were camping, my dad forgot his actual WATER BOWL, and we just filled a regular bowl with water, no big deal.
Well, that dog wasn't having that.
My dad took a bottle of bottled water, and literally let the dog drink it right out of the bottle.
It was flavored water too, the more expensive stuff....
PATHETIC. It's a dog for crying out loud.
It was never the same again.
Now it barks for food/water.
A year and a half later, my parents are back together.
Now i'm dealing with the monster daily.
Now to about a month ago.
By this time, we all hate it.
ALL OF US, except my dad moderately likes it.
My mom finally said said "Paul. This dog is out of control. We can't have our house this disgusting, and we can't deal with it's vicious temper anymore. You need to put it in the kennel during the day, or we need to get rid of it. That's how it's gonna work. If not, I know a lady at work who will take him."

My dad went to put it in the kennel the next morning. It bit him in the face.

Nothing's happened since then.

We were SO CLOSE!

It pukes and goes to the bathroom everywhere, it's disgusting!
I hate cleaning up after it!
I figure, if it were up to me the dog would be in another loving home. It's not my dog, I don't want it. I'm not cleaning up after it unless it's in my room, or a room I would like to access.
I stick to that.
I keep my door shut, and I clean up after it when it does it's business in the exercise room.
Still, we shouldn't have to clean up after a grown dog anymore.
We still want to get rid of it, but my dad doesn't want to!
We're like "Fine, if you want to keep it, YOU can take care of it. YOU can clean up after it! We're sick of it!"

and he goes
"Well, IT'S NOT MY DOG! I DIDN'T BUY IT! I ONLY TOOK IT IN OUT OF PITY! I DIDN'T WANT IT!"

DOES
THAT
MAKE
ANY
SENSE
TO
ANYONE?!??!?!!

Now we're stuck with a dog, and nobody who wants to take care of it.
We want it gone. My dad wants it, but he doesn't want the actual RESPONSIBILITY of a dog. It doesn't work like that.

I tell you this, people of M-F.

When I get my license, I will see to it that that I find a good place for that dog to go, drive it over there, and never look back, without telling my parents beforehand. The world will be a better place. My dad will move on, he wasn't ready for a dog. We'll start him off with like a worm or something.

Mark my words people, i'll do it......
IF
IT'S
THE
LAST
THING
I
EVER
FREAKIN
DO!!!!!!!!!!!!

WE WANT IT GONE.

On the plus side of things, Shih Tzus tend to develop health problems around age 10, so once it's about, oh 10 years old, he'll be on his way out.

Although, I love Shih Tzus. Probably my second favorite kind of dog (after Greyhounds).

ALSO!

This is Ezra, mah new baby.

The reason I got it so cheap is because the pickup selector switch knob was missing, and the part you put a replacement knob on was broken. Basically, I'm stuck on the bridge pickup, but I'm fine with that, because that is definitely where my tone is.

I'll probably order a replacement switch soon.

Definitely. The guys in the band have actually commented that my playing has improved since I got the thing, which, I must definitely agree with. :D

Only bad news is that Yamaha doesn't sell replacement switches. I'd have to blow $100 to replace all the electronics in the darn thing, so I'm just going to buy a Les Paul 3-way switch and see if I can draft up a schematic diagram for this so I can keep the cool LEDs working.
