well, thats not what im going after.... base MSRP of $3500 and 50 MPG. i dunno about you, but i dont see any used cars or "cheap" cars with that pricetag and fuel economy.

Geo Metro.

And you can drive it in the rain.

Geo Metro.

I have never seen a Geo in any dealership that would even be a far enough drive to be worth it.

What I'm saying is, if there was a Geo in this city that was being sold somewhere, the drive to get there wouldn't even be worth it. No one drives a Geo here. And driving that thing to school... my god that would be propped up on cinder blocks the first day. That's how bad driving a Geo would be. I would be ridiculed every day, even by my parents. So I'd rather not go through the hassle of driving that "laughing stock on wheels".

That was my nice and mature way of saying "LOL".

I continue to say, a bike is no better. If that's your only mode of transportation, you should really reconsider getting a bike.

In other news, got a new stereo for my truck today. Hocked an old CB I had for it.

Yay!

i agree with derek and nor cal.

i love cheeze-its and i don't think the bike is a good idea. ;P

the point about a bike as your only mode of transportation is valid, the other is putting someone with only a few years of experience at most on something so deadly (most people in health-care i know call them donor-cycles).

i wouldn't say the metro is your best bet necessarily - safety will be an issue. though i did own a 95 metro 3cyl... one of the best cars i've ever owned. but you really should consider other used cars.

I only said Metro because he wanted 50 MPG.

I agree. Metro is not the best choice, but it's still safer and more practical than a motorcycle for a main mode of transportation.

I would love to have a Geo as a daily driver. They're perfect little go karts and they're amazing on gas.

just wait a while, the era of the mini-car in the states is on it's way.

i just saw a report in car and driver that the european ford fiesta will be making it state-side relatively untouched. and of course the superb little nissan cube will be here shortly too.

The bad news is I lost a bunch of pictures - the good news is that it was only pictures of my car. I also get to upgrade - I think I'll be getting a 350 this time. :)

You won't be giggling when gas hits $12/gallon or more, as it is in parts of Europe.

nah, giggle at smarts all you want. for their size their milage is pitiful. you're better off with a yaris or fit that will actually do almost the same mpg but fit passengers and some cargo.

And on premium fuel, no less. So, any savings in mileage is easily recouped by fuel cost, plus you get to drive a death trap.

But there are much better examples of micro cars out there. The Ford Ka being one of them.
