First of all I would like to introduce myself as it is my 1st post in this large and nice community.

I am quite passionated about apple products and I admit that I feel more keen and efficient using them.

I am using a Mac Book Pro I7 2.8Ghz 4GB 750GB - Late 2011 with OSX 10.7.5

Is there any chance I can upgrade to Mac OS High Sierra ?

When I try doing so through the App store I get a message This update need at least Mac OS 10.8 or later.

I am sure this question is already aswered somewhere but to be honest I spent a few hours trying to solve this, without succes.

Thanks in advance for your help and support.

G'day and welcome to the forums.

In short, yes you can upgrade to High Sierra but the new file system APFS will work only on an SSD at this stage. Also 4GB of memory is minute, suggest 8GB at least or even better the maximum of 16GB. Note you will need an Apple ID to download from the App Stire.

Have a read of this link:-

There has been quite some debate on other Mac forums recently about the cost of Crucial memopry going through the roof. I personally use OWC and with exhcnage rates and shipping to Australiua, still far cheaper than buying locally. There is an OWC outlet in Europe. Compare with the following prices from OWC:-

Got a tail?

After having bred and shown Corgis for over fifty years took some used to that wagging tail when docking became illegal in 1995.
