Looking to play a .exe game on my Imac

hi i have bought a new Imac which is the 21.5" 4GB of RAM and 500GB hard drive which i very much enjoy however, i have come across that most games are in .exe i was wondering if anyone could help me out..

The game is called tibia you download directly from the website and comes in a small 12MB (ish) file that is .exe is there any way round it to play on my Imac or what methods are available to me?

Some advice would be great!
(sorry if ive missed some thing obvious)

You will need windows to run this. You can load windows via bootcamp or you can get something like VMWare and load windows that way. Either way, you will need to own a copy of windows.

More or less, you will use bootcamp to make the partion for windows and as the bootloader, then install windows and update your windows drivers via bootcamp.

And you will need Windows 7 or XP that is yet to be activated. OEM version will work.

URGENT problem; got windows 98 and a xp update on partioning 32GB in bootcamp in then goes into dos to install windows asks whether from hard drive or CD rom I press 2 for cd rom and then carrys on to ask to chose from 3 options start windows 98 setup from cd rom
start computer with cd to
support
start computer without cd rom support
1 says device not found OEMCD001 and then is in dos for A:/> and can't get out of it and won't let me revert back to my mac

Sorry for block writing, on my iPhone and bit frantic!

Yeah but my worry now is I can't get back! I don't know how to eject cd or get back to my mac settings i just keeps loading up to install there's no way to eject cd

Just reboot the machine, hold down the Option key when you hear the POST chime, and select your MacIntosh HD to boot from. Once booted back into OS X, press the eject key on your keyboard to eject the CD.

And - please read the Boot Camp instructions before proceeding any further.

And Luke do as chscag says read the instructions please. You need a full version unregistered with key code of XP with SP3 or Windows 7 only.

Tibia is evidently also very compatible with running under Wine on OSX (if you want to learn about wine overall, see here: http://wiki.winehq.org/AboutWine - keep in mind, any implementation of wine will give you some compatibility with some windows apps, but not all). There are 3 ways to get Wine -

1) Get the darwine project files and install them - current version is called Winebottler - it's free. WineBottler - Run Windows Programs directly on OS X

2) You compile it yourself (you can do this thru Porticus/macports, but it will be more difficult to use then winebottler or crossover as both of those platforms have a gui front end to make managing wine easier.)

3) Get Codeweavers Crossover Games for Mac (paid support version of Wine with modifications) - according to other uses of CO Games, it works quite well (see: Compatibility - Tibia - CodeWeavers )
