This is our pet Scrub Jay which comes everyday and squawk for peanuts. Our neighborhood became unfriendly recently to many of our birds, because a Coopers Hawk family has moved in and they love to eat other birds.

This is one of the Amazon parrots that visited our sun flowers we planted for them at the time. They are regulars.

This is Baine. He's a little over 8 months old. We had him weighed at the vets about 3-4 weeks ago and he was 60lbs. I have some puppy pics somewhere. If I find them, I'll post them up.

Why do Americans butcher the dogs ears to make them stand up??
Is docking the dogs tails outlawed in the US now like most counties now ?

Breed standard and heritage. Ears were cropped and tails were docked to prevent injury to the dogs in the like of duty.

Baine is going to start shutzhund training in the next couple of months.

Cruel huh? Maybe we should worry more about the people that abuse their animals and kill them for their own pleasure. That's cruel. Baine is well taken care of...an owner that wanted to be cruel to their dog wouldn't take him to the E-vet on a Sunday and pay $75 just to get him in, not counting meds or anything else that needs to be payed for...

I think that only in the US docking is not being outlawed, most countries it is banned and accepted as Cruel and unnecessary.

Heritage: but if that's so, wouldn't the earts stand up on their own without the knife being used ?

Just a thought from this side of the world.

Actually a lot of the European owners on the Doberman site have their dogs with docked tails. Something about it mainly being illegal in the UK.

I had a roommate that had a Wolf-German Shepard hybrid (75% wolf!!) pup that looked just like that. This wolf-dog grew up to be absolutely enormous!!! It weighed around 125 lbs...

He's Malamute/German Shepherd!! He's almost 5 months old and weighs in at 50+Lbs. Papa was malmute @120 mama German Shepherd 80+. I worked on a wolf ranch in NM. Wouldn't have one in the city. They are incredible animals though. Sacha is an awsome mutt. He's already got hand commands down and has for 2 months. Smartest shepherd I've had to date.

I like Arlo and Woody, Why?

Don't mean to bump an old thread here, but I just took a few pictures and figured I'd post them

My dogs drug a carcass home, so I decided to take a picture of it. LOL :|

I also had the BRIGHT idea of putting the cat on the roof. Took an hour and a half to get him off there. Who is that trying to get him down?? :\ :Lips-Are-Sealed:
