that pic of Billy waiting for the tennis ball is insanely good.

is that the legendary pulse in the pic under that kitty?
(too bad about her too, that is awful. people who do those things should be removed from society.)

Thanks eric ... yep that's me as a youngster in my 20's ... lol. Yeah it was a shock to come home and he was an indoor cat mainly, and we let him out for a few minutes and he rushed in and was convulsing. i was devastated.

Nice dog, tak! Nice cat, eric!

My dog cares not for cats, so there.

Though he gets along with ours fairly well. We got Max (the cat) when we first started talking about a dog. We knew we were getting a Rhodesian ridgeback, which were bread to hunt lions. We though a cat would give him something to play with. :)

To keep things fair, the cat was pretty much full grown when Loki came to live with us, and we haven't had the cat declawed. So when little puppy Loki tried to eat big clawed cat Max, Loki got slashed across his nose and learned his limits. They now play with each other all the time. At least, we think they're playing. No one ever bleeds, so it's all good.

cats are for people who don't need a dog to constantly tell them that they are wonderful. ;)

We have two rescue dogs. One is named Princess and we are the ones who always have to tell her how wonderful she is. She knows her commands, but she will not do anything that she is not in the mood for at that moment. She just ignores us unless there is something in it for her, like food or a walk. On the other hand, we have another one named Sammy and he will do anything to make us happy. He will get up from a sleep just to get love and attention. Sammy would come back from a walk just happy and content. And, Princess would come from a walk saying "OK. I took a walk with you, what are you going to give me for it?"
I have had cats who would do anything to make me happy and other ones who would just ignore me, just like Daisy, the nasty Siamese cat we rescued. You can't even play with her without her biting or scratching.

Oh dear. This is going to be a long post.

My dog Hanna. I got her for my 13th birthday, after several mutts hadn't worked out too well for obedience in 4H, so my grandparents bought me a purebred. We did good. "Real good." My parents still have her at home.

My mom's dog, Hailey. She got her so I could do some bracework with Hanna. Got to take 'em both to state. Hailey is 4 years younger than Hanna.

Tippy, a lab-dalmation. One of my earlier 4H projects that ... didn't work out. In 4H obedience classes, you have to put your dog on a stay, and they have to stay standing while the judge touches them. Tippy would stay until then, then run and hide behind me, and growl at the just from between my legs. She's the old lady of the house, and keeps the other dogs in line pretty well.

My horse Komet, a Curly Horse. He's allergic to dust and some hay. He had laser eye surgery for his glaucoma and gets eyedrops 2x a day. I've had him since I was 9. That horse ain't going nowhere. My parents still keep him at home. He's a really, really good horse. If you'll note in this picture, we're riding at a canter, about to take a 2'6 fence that's not pictured ... with no saddle/bridle.

2004.jpg

My horse Bubbles, a National Show Horse. At 21, still acts 3. Crazy, but pretty. A lot of fun, and I've learned a TON from her.
c115.jpg

Apache, a bs Paint. 14.3 hands of solid muscle. He's done nothing but run fast his whole life. He looks like a potato on legs - short lets, at that, but he can get out of his own way.

Boo, another Curly horse, like Komet. He's 5 now, and the one that I took down to college with me. Still working on his training ... he's pretty well greenbroke, just doesn't have much experience under his belt yet.

You know what I like about horses? There's a Mongolian drink called Ariak, or Ariag in some places. It is fermented mare's milk. It is a slightly sour, thick alcoholic beverage. Gotta represent my heritage!
To get back on topic, here's some more pics of my dog. Her name is Jade, she is already 5 years, but still looks and acts like a puppy.

And this picture, I got her right after she was finishing a yawn.
