Last MBP update?

I'm in the market and trying to decide between the 13" and 15". I have been doing a lot of research and can't seem to get an answer as to when the last updated MBP was. I read on forums from December and January that suggested it would be the end of January but I have not read if it ever came to fruition.
I'm ready to buy and I know how secretive Apple is about the new and upcoming. Is there a trend when they release something new or an updated version?

The last update was in June 2009. Apple seems to update on a roughly 8 month cycle but not exactly. Also Geekbench has been reported to have tested the rumored new MBP. That information has generated a lot of discussion on the internet and fueled more fire to the rumors of new MBPs coming very soon.

Wow. Then I may need to wait. I am not sure what all can be done to make it better than what was done last June. By the rough 8 month cycle that puts the new MBP due…..well now.
