Have you recently updated to the latest version of Skype? - it includes a Facebook tie-in, which checks your latest status updates on launch. Either roll-back to a previous version of Skype, or just allow it access, it's harmless (IF you trust Facebook that is ;) )

I dont trust facebook lol. I just un-installed skype with app cleaner and there is supposedly no trace of skype left but its still there at start up. Asking for permission at startup. Any ideas?

I did exactly what your post recommended and its still here. The search found some skype stuff in the system files but the java.facebookupdate is still here.

Open the Terminal and type this:
sudo updatedb
(when you use sudo it asks for your admin password - it hides the password from view as you type.)
next type:
sudo locate facebook

Find (hopefully) java.facebookupdate and then navigate to it and delete it.

Well, this is the process making the connection: /usr/bin/java -cp /Users/[my username]/Library/Application Support/Facebook/video/1.2.0.157/FacebookUpdate.jar FacebookUpdate com.facebook.peep 1.2.0.157
I haven't looked inside the .jar or tried to figure out exactly what it's doing.
It only started once I tried to use the video chat feature in facebook, which prompted me to install some java stuff, which I did. Since then, this connection attempt is made frequently. I'm blocking it 'till it's clearer what it's for. At least in my experience, it's not Skype related; I had skype installed for a long time without ever seeing this.
The log file at ~/Library/Application\ Support/Facebook/video_install.log includes this line:
[12/03/30 15:33:32] Copying updater plist to LaunchAgents directory
Which leads me to ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.facebook.videochat.[my username].plist which starts it every 3 Hours.
I'll be surprised if removing this .plist file actually keeps facebook video chat from working.
