J5 wormhole cable

Happy New Year!
Recently bought another mac mini and have been researching ways of controlling both with one keyboard and mouse. The J5 wormhole cable seems the most likely at this point.
Have any members used this? If so, could you please provide any feedback on its good/bad points?

I am sorry, but I do not have any thoughts or experience with such a device and it seems not many Mac-forum members do either, so maybe you could use a Google search and see if you can find any comments there you may need to modify the search phrase:

My completely unsupported personal opinion, but I would really be dubious whether such a cable will do what you are expecting you to do.
Normally much more elaborate switches are usually used, but I have never used any of those either.

Good luck. At least it looks like you should be able to use it for file transfers if nothing else. But your Mac probably has that capability built in anyway.

I don't see how that cable will allow two different computers to be controlled by a single mouse and keyboard. It appears to be intended for connecting two computers together. It has USB-A on each end. How would you plug that into a keyboard and mouse????

What you need is something called a KVM switch. You plug your keyboard and mouse into the switch; the switch then has USB cables going out to a pair of computers. There is a toggle button on the box that will toggle between the computers.

Another option is to get a keyboard and mouse that can pair to multiple computers. I have a Logitech MX Master keyboard and mouse that do this. They each have a switch to change between devices. Think of it as a built-in KVM switch.
