hi,
i've just udated my itunes to v7 ( so lots of new stuff to look at ), but when i try to play some tracks, it says 'unable to play because original file could not be found, would you like to search for it ? ".
i dont know where to search, can you help . . .

FYI - i dont know if it is related but after updating, i've dragged a bunch of new music files across from section B of my partitioned harddrive.
the new songs appear in my section A itunes folder OK.

also why has only part of the album art work downloaded.

thanks

Welcome to Mac-Forums, beatzlover.

It sounds like there is a gap where iTunes cut through, perhaps? Like iTunes thinks it's a selection of tunes and one one big wallop of a track... Does the tune show up in its entirety but is chopped up or is it really missing a big chunk?

hey macheadcase,
it shows as one track, i 've burnt 2 CD s now, and they both stop at 12min. it shows as a 109 meg mp3 file in the itunes folder, i cant see anything unusual about it.
is there some thing i should be doing, like indexing or something ?

also i've read a couple of other posts re: the itune tracks "not found" that i mentioned earlier, they seem to suggest i need to drag the xml and database files over also.
what do you think ??
thanks for your help.

I have a question that kinda goes along with this.

I have 8030 songs in iTunes, but when I update my iPod it only shows a total of 8025 songs. I don't get an error message that certain ones weren't copied due to incompatability. how would I go about checking to see which songs weren't copied over?

When you connect your iPod click the arrow next to it and that will show you the contents of your ipod.
