Your post is a little jumbled, but if I read it correctly, your asking how to add music to your iPod, but first have to add music to iTunes.

There are a few ways to do this. The easiest way in my opinion is to first load all of your music that you have on CDs. Pop in one of your favorite CDs while iTunes is open, and it will ask you if you want to 'Import' the CD. Select yes, and it will do it for you. Depending on what CDs you own, you might not even have to enter any of the CDs information about the songs. By accessing a database called "Gracenote", it's actually able to pull an albums information up for you. If not, you'll have to enter it yourself, but that's a different topic. hope this helps!

I think he's saying that his iTunes library has suddenly vanished (is empty) yet there are still songs on his iPod. I don't know the answer here but that's my interpretation.

Willem, you are right, i want to say this.
In the latest version of iTunes there are 2 ways to get music on your iPod:

1) Import songs into your iTunes library and add them to the iPod from iTunes.
2) Drag music files (or whole folders of music files) into your iPod without importing them into iTunes.

Two things that should be noted:
-There are TWO lists of music (as seen in the attached screen shot). The upper one is music from my iTunes library...music that is on my computer. The lower one is music that is on my iPod.

-Music that is on my iPod is not necessarily included in my iTunes library...if, for instance, I put it on my iPod by method 2 listed above.

Now...is the music you're looking for on your iPod, but not in the library? Did you just drag it onto the iPod as described above?

Hope that helps.

-Nick

It seems to me that . He doesn't want itunes to sync his iPod and just drags thr iTunes folder onto the iPod... Thats why your library is empty you have moved your iTunes folder onto your pod... I'd put it back and let iTunes sync it for you.

there are 3rd party programs that will allow you to synch all the songs from your iPod to your iTunes. This will allow you to keep your songs that are already on the iPod. Then, you can re-synch the actual iPod to iTunes, which will erase all your songs on the iPod, but since you already copied them to iTunes, it won't matter.

The one I've used does cost money, so I don't want to post it here, but feel free to PM me. I'm sure there are ones out there that are shareware...
