iTunes Controller Question

So I downloaded You Control Tunes iTunes Controller and although I like it, I was wondering...

Do all iTunes controllers open iTunes?

That may be a dumb question, but I kinda thought they just played your library without opening itunes.

They cannot play your library without opening iTunes, unfortunately. Most controllers use iTunes' API to speak with the application. Only iTunes itself know how to access the files and organize them into the playlists you made.

Still its a pretty good controller, I reccomend it to anyone looking for a simple, nice looking controller.
