It's still transparent...

Even tho I have 'reduce transparency' checked in sys prefs, some sites still have transparent areas. Any fix for this?

OS X 10.10.2

OS X (and most operating systems) are moving to more and more transparency. As far as I know, there's no way to reduce it any further. That said, reducing transparency this way makes it nearly non-existent. Is there any particular part of the UI that you're having difficulty with?

I was on AOL's news site when I noticed it. The area where the headlines are in a white area...

Can you be more specific? Is this specific to a site or application? Do you have a screenshot?

Best I can tell AOL appears to be using text on a white background. Changing the transparency is not going to change that.

Yeah, this seems to be a website issue, not a UI issue.

Well, you've already received some great advice - I also disliked the 'transparency' feature and reduced the effect in System Preferences (SP). In addition, I also checked the box in the General area of SP 'Use dark menu bar and Dock' (see attachment w/ blue arrow) - my menu bar & Dock show the appearance change (depends in part on your desktop picture) - not sure this will help but another consideration. Dave :)

I guess you must be right... I have 4 versions of OS X here - tried to go to AOL (dot com) in TIGER 10.4 and it won't come up for some reason - and then in ML, Mavs and Yosemite it all looks the same... must be a recent development that slipped by me until now.
