Is my iPod dead?

I have the 30gb Photo iPod (forgot which generation)

Now whenever I plug it in to wall charge, or into my laptop, I get nothing on the screen...

I feel like its probably dead, but just wondering if you guys had any problems like this and if so is there a way to fix it?

When you plug it into your computer is it still recognized by iTunes? If so, try restoring it. If not, then try rebooting it (hold down select and menu) then try and see what happens.
