Hey all:

I'm on a MacBook using OS10.7.5, and had been running Photoshop CS5 just fine.

Then I needed to order prints from my supplier, and my computer would no longer run their updated software. Their tech support said it was a Java issue, and he led me through the process of trashing all my Java files and then loading the proper version of Java to run their software. Worked fine.

But after that, CS5 wouldn't open. Bridge and Lightroom ran fine. Figured it was time to upgrade to the Adobe Creative Cloud anyway, so I did that. Adobe said CC would run on OS as old as 10.7.

Got everything downloaded and installed, and PS again won't open, while Lightroom and Bridge open and run well. An Adobe tech took control of my computer and tried a bunch of fixes, none involving Java, and suggested I reinstall 10.7.5.

I could definitely use some expert help. Thanks in advance!

you might have a problem and ended up java screwing mac os x and you will need to reinstall i am sorry to say that photoshop does require the latest version for java where your site you are trying to access might require a windows version of java that isn't mac compatible.

you are going to have to reinstall

I can open PS CC if I right click on the app and then select "show package contents," then "contents," then Mac OS," then PS.

When I did that this morning just now, here's what popped up. (PS works fine by opening this way.)

/Applications/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CC\ 2014/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CC\ 2014.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ Photoshop\ CC\ 2014 ; exit;
