Somewhat off-topic.. but why do so many people constantly bring up wanting a Verizon compatible iPhone, knowing full we'll there is a 5 year contract? Gets so old reading the same thing over and over..

I've even read where people say Apple went to Verizon "first" .. anyone with half a brain would see why Apple would have little to no interest in making a CDMA/EVDO phone, since they announced from almost day one that the phone would be sold almost everywhere across the world and GSM/UMTS/LTE is considered the "world standard." Maybe it's just me, but I don't get it..

the only reason I keep asking about verizon is i want the iphone but i only have verizon i kno verizon sucks trust me im trying to get rid of it i want at&t and the iphone...but im stuck wiht verizon for another two years or wat ever is left on the contract....i heard that apple might make the new iphone available to be used on all carriers after it is unlocked. i was just wondering if there was any truth to that but apparently not.
