iPhone and YouTube

For some reason, my iPhone 5s (12.5.7) is not connecting to YouTube. I get "no connection" at the bottom of the iPhone window. Any ideas, pse?

Thanks ... I tried various things but have now gone back to accessing YouTube via Safari, which is what I always used to do.
