Turned off the "Hearing Aid compatibility" functionality, and hoping that will take care of it. I may have to remember to check on that often.

You may want to check with your Hearing Aid supplier and make sure your actual HA model are actually compatible, and what technology they are actually using.

I wonder if the system assumes that if you turn on the HA function that if the earbuds are not connected, the speaker is much louder. Sort of makes sense if you think a HA wearer is hard of hearing.

The hearing assist function is meant to reduce noise and interference. If earbuds are not connected I'm wearing my HA, so the speaker sure doesn't need to be louder; I'd actually need more volume using earbuds, since then I'm not wearing HA.

I know that, you know that, but maybe the programmers and designers didn't know that. If you were actually hard of hearing, with hearing loss, then when the buds are not in, the louder volume of the speaker would be of some use. For you, not so much.

I noticed in the brochure and Resound factory Website information for the COSTCO supplied hearing aid replacement I was getting about nine months ago were "telephone compatible" which I didn't heed very much as they worked with our current telephone.

Well, we ended up buying new cordless telephones recently which explained how to use them with hearing aids With T-coils installed. I had to phone the Costco hearing aid center to inquire about any T-coil being installed and was informed that my hearing aids did not have them, neither could they be added. They could only tell after cross-checking using the hearing aid serial numbers.

But not to worry in my case as the new Panasonic Cordless phones we purchased had a feature to help with hearing aid users. It works well.

Yes the hearing aid prices are crazy, but Costco's pricing (Canada) saved us a few thousand dollars from most regular Hearing Aid Centers for equivalent aids. Just FYI!!!

I hate to say it, but HA companies have a captive audience and can pretty much charge whatever they want. Especially here in the States where Medicare and Medicaid will pick up the price for new Aids every 6 or 7 years.

However, that's beginning to change with alternate less expensive Aids that are now on the market. Those do not need a prescription from your Audio specialist and are easily replaceable. My wife and I volunteer at several nursing homes (before the virus hit) where the majority of residents there wear Hearing Aids. You can just imagine how many times those folks lose their HAs.

Some of them have resorted to wearing the cheaper HAs that can be bought across the counter and can not tell the difference.

It reminds me of my prescription glasses which cost over $300 a pair just for the lenses (frames extra). What I do now is buy Readers from Walgreens for around $15.00 and can read with them just as well.
