I just had the battery replaced in my iPhone 8. I leave it on at night and when I awake, the screen brightness goes dim from where I had it originally set. What could be causing this and is there a solution to correct it? It's set to LIGHT and automatic is OFF. Night shift is OFF as well. See photo.

Thanks...

I have the automatic brightness set to off as well and I've had brightness adjust based on ambient light as well. There is nothing you can do to make it stop since the only setting I can see is that automatic thing.

Check your settings to see if you somehow have your Battery set to "Low Power Mode" as that will reduce the brightness of the display in order to save battery power.

It also helps us if you tell us which version of iOS you're currently running.

iOS 15.2 & low battery mode is OFF.
This only started occurring AFTER the battery replacement.

Sorry, out of ideas. Your iPhone 8 doesn't have "True Tone" which is the only other setting that can affect brightness.

Try rebooting the phone to see if that helps. (Turn it off and on again.) It almost seems like your brightness is somehow adjusting itself according to ambient light even though you have it set otherwise. You can try toggling that setting to see if it helps.

I agree with Admin chscag. What I'd do is a Force Restart of your iPhone (see below on how to do this).

After it switches on, try again. I would then adjust the brightness to the conditions under which you are viewing the iPhone.

And by the way, the "Automatic" setting is linked to Light Mode/Dark Mode, not screen brightness as such.

As you have chosen Light Mode, the way to choose your optimum brightness is via the slider under the heading "BRIGHTNESS".

Here is the Link:
