IPhone 6 Not Syncing to IMac

So I just got a IPpone 6 and I [lugged it into my IMac and nothing. The USB recognizes it because it charges, but ITunes did nothing. Not like my old Iphone.

Any ideas?

Just trying to get all my songs into my phone.

When you open iTunes, I assume when you click on the little iPhone icon on the left upper side that is when you get the "could not connect" picture.

When you plug the iPhone into the iMac in does iPhoto pop open? From your posted picture I image not.

Is your iPhone on the exact same apple ID account as the iMac?

Well thats just it, the little Iphone icon does not appear.

No Iphoto does not open.

Yes my IPhone is on the same exact ID account as my IMac.

At the moment I will do all that this article says that you have linked.

Ok quick update, I restarted both my IMac and IPhone and then it worked.

I just went down the list from that article and that did it.
