It seems like there are a lot of Sync issues with IOS 5!

When I first installed IOS 5, the sync medium seemed to default to iCloud. When contacts and calendar entries weren't lining up between my iPhone and my Mac's Address Book and iCal, I switched to WiFi, then even turned that off.

Although the iTunes status says that things are syncing, nothing moves either from or to my iPhone.

Does this work for ANYONE??

It sounds like you aren't set up correctly because although most of us had teething troubles initially we gradually got things synching.

For example, most of the synch issues that I encountered were because I hadn't upgraded my iMac to Lion 10.7.2 beforehand (minimum requirement if you are syncing with a Mac) and that synch items on my phone needed to be checked/unchecked accordingly.

In particular, with iCal, if you are synching all through iCloud you need to uncheck all the local calendars on the iPhone and just leave iCloud checked.

Correspondingly you need to have all the correct sync settings in iTunes, which you won't get if you don't have Lion.

You don't say what your specs are in your post so it's difficult to be more specific.

Welcome to the forum BTW.

Thanks Pendlewitch.

I am blown away with the offer to assist. I'll do a bit more digging into iTunes & the iDevices myself before I come back with specifics.

I really just wanted to confirm that things worked before I spend any more time on the various settings.

I am on 10.7.2 Lion, and iTunes 10.5. The iPhone and iPad are IOS 5.0.

By default, things were set up with iCloud, but after having some problems, I switched to WiFi. Then I saw more in iTunes about setting up the iCloud account from each side.

At that point, I figured I'd just get things working the way they were - Synching when plugged in.

Once I figure that out, I'll see about getting iCloud working.

Good to hear things DO work. I'll post something when I sort it out.

That's really kind of you thank you:)

Your OS and App versions look good to me.Just a point, just check that you are on iPhoto 11 also as this will help with Photo Stream. Yeah I know...a few more extra bucks....;D

The iCloud has settled down now after the initial rush so give it another try.

Thanks for coming back to me.

This is my first ever forum post of any kind, but I've used this forum many times to solve problems. Feedback welcome. Thanks in advance!
My problem is my iPhone 4S contacts will not sync with iMac 2GHz Intel Core Duo when contacted via hard wire. I have iCloud enabled on the iPhone 4S, but can not upgrade to Lion on the iMac, so no iCloud on the iMac. Calendar and music sync OK.

Hello there and welcome to the forum.
I'm not really familiar with your problem but just try this..in your iPhone/Settings/iCloud... if 'Contacts' is turned on then turn it 'Off'. This should logically stop trying to sync your contacts wirelessly and get you back to hard-wired.
