I was recently in a T-Mobile store getting a sim for a cell hotspot when my wife, who has not wanted to give up her iPhone 8 Plus because of the Home Button, picked up an iPhone 12 Pro Max and started playing with it and commented on how large and nice it was.

I would be happy to get one for her but was wondering if I should expect a price drop with the release of the iPhone 13 this week. Do the iPhone prices normally drop with the new releases? Or just stay the same? If they drop it might be worth waiting a couple of days.

The 13 is rumored to cost more. I seriously doubt the 12 will drop in price. Apple hasn't done that before. That said, the cell companies may well offer the 12 at a "bargain" after the 13's arrive to unload that inventory. If I were you, I'd wait to see what the pricing is on the 13 before splashing out for a 12.

Unfortunately, no. You can expect the iPhone 12 prices to remain the same for sometime. Also, rumors have it that we will see a price increase in new Apple devices because of the world wide shortage of components.

Might be best if your wife likes that large iPhone 12, that you make a deal (time pay) with your local T-Mobile store. They should be offering bill credit of some sort.

Thanks for the information.

I noticed that Costco is already $100 less than Apple for an iPhone 12 Pro Max so I will see what happens this week.

I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and I love it. It is large though. My husband has the 12 Pro and I do like the size better but it is just what she will prefer. One other feature it has is the addition of 5G. That might be a nice bonus. It was for me as I have 5G in my rural area.
