I am using iOS 12.3.1 on my iPhone 7 and I have used only 86 GB’s out of 2 TB’s of iCloud storage space yet my backup has been sitting on ‘Estimating Time Remaining’ for 3 DAYS NOW!! I’m too afraid to cancel the backup as it’s taken forever just to get as far as I’ve got. Please help [emoji1374]

Is this via iTunes? But sure, cancel it. It’s only backing up data. Not creating it. Cancel it, reset your phone and try again.

No it’s not...unfortunately I don’t have a Mac computer to run iTunes - it would make life so much easier if I did. I don’t really want to cancel the current progress as it’s taken me since March just to get as far as I have :(

Just so you know, iTunes is also available for winOS, it's in the Windows Store.

The point being. It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been at it. It’s just a backup.
Are you backing up over WiFi, or Cellular?
It sounds like Cell. Your carrier won’t be able to handle that kind of load.
If it’s WiFi your link has gone down.
Reset your phone. Or also what may? Work is simply turning your phones Wifi then turning it back on.
You aren’t going to ‘lose’ anything.

Thank you for the info but sadly I don’t have a computer of any kind.. I just have my iPhone and my iPad Pro, so I’m a bit out of luck as far as iTunes is concerned.

Thank you but I’ve tried ALL sorts of things with no luck. I’m using a high speed WiFi connection

Maybe use your iPad and do some googling like:
iphone Estimating Time Remaining - Google Search

You'll find lots of hits similar to this:
[Solved] How to Fix iCloud Restore Stuck on Estimating Time Remaining
[Solved] How to Fix iCloud Restore Stuck on Estimating Time Remaining

The "Estimating Time Remaining" is a very common subjec it seems.

If you have a friend with a computer, Mac or PC, maybe you could share a copy of iMazing.app and keep your own real and complete backups:
iMazing | iPhone, iPad & iPod Manager for Mac & PC

BTW: iMazing.app is a waaaay better backup method and well as being more versitile and complete!!.

It's also on sale ending in the next two days with 77%off for $20.00:
iMazing 2: Universal License for Mac & Windows | TwoDollarTues Exclusives

Is this your first backup or has this worked in the past?
If it's your first it will take a while to finish especially if the connection drops out. Please take note that it says automatic backups will take place when the "iPhone is CONNECTED TO POWER, LOCKED and ON WIFI.
So by all means cancel the backup (that will also take a while) and try allowing Auto Backup to run overnight. That's been the most successful method for me.

I absolutely agree with Rod (and others).

The key point the OP was concerned about was terminating the backup, fearing that in doing so, the data on his iDevice would be lost.

He can be reassured that the data is safe. As one member said “it’s just a backup”.

Better to cancel, as Rod said, and start over again, probably with auto backup over night; bearing in mind the essential requirements: iDevice connected to power (directly to a power output socket), locked and with a good Wi-Fi source.
