So I have the option to install iOS 15 on my iPhone 12 Max Pro. And for those that have come to know me on this forum you will not be surprised that I am currently downloading it. I will let you know how it goes!

3.24GB update. Quite a hefty update there. It says about 10 mins to download, so no bad.

I downloaded and finished installing in about 20 minutes? Not positive as I really didn't pay attention to the time. Actually it went smoothly and so far there is no big difference although my phone seems a bit more snappier.

Update finally showed up here just a short time ago.

It also appears that if you have already installed 14.8, the update to 15 is not mandatory.

I did my iPad first. Surprised how quick it was. A few setup things, like the Wallet, but not bad.

The 10 mins download was a lie. 😃 It took nearly an hour to download and is waiting for me to install it now.

I did get a pop up about sharing Messenger content in selected apps (turned that sucker off!), stealth downloading in email privacy protection and a lot more that I most likely will never use.

It always amazes me how much more they keep adding to what originally was developed to be a cellular phone to make phone calls with. The addition of texting and email was a real plus for me. After those two items all the rest has been conveniences added to pump up sales and beat the Android competition. It has certainly been an interesting evolution. :Smirk:

Seriously?? Wow, I know mine was around 10 minutes give or take. I do have better internet speeds - 85 Mbps - on my T-Mobile hotspot.

Yeah, my download was around 10 minutes which surprised me. Installation only took around 5 minutes or so.

WatchOS is taking a lot longer than the iOS or iPadOS did. Very slow.

Update: iOS took about 20 minutes, iPadOS took about the same. WatchOS 8 took just over 90 minutes to complete. About equally divided on Watch OS between preparing, downloading and verifying. The actual install on the watch was about 10 minutes.

I forgot about Watch 8. I just started that and it "says" 15 minutes to download. I will let you know. :)

Took 14 minutes to download Watch OS 8, about the same time to get it ready and now installing it. Took longer to install than it did to download, verify and get it ready. But it is all good.

Wonder why my install took so long? Oh, well, it's done and for now, all are updated--  Watch, iPhone, iPad. My wife is, shall we say, reluctant to give up her iPhone for the updating, so I may have to "borrow" them when she goes to bed tonight.

I haven't done my husbands 12 pro yet. My iPad is at work so I will do it tomorrow.

Yeah, I have my wife's phone to do and also my iPad Pro. I usually have to wait until she goes to sleep so I can sneak the phone away long enough to update. :)

iOS 15 went smoothly for me. But WatchOS 8 started out as "About 0 days remaining.."

Now it's down to 44 minutes.

Yeah, WatchOS was very slow for me, too. First time for that to be that way.
