Internet connection alert

Hi.
How can I prevent the annoying alert message ("Do you want to stay connected?" or something like that) from popping up every 15 minutes?
I run OS 10.4.8.

How are you connected to the internet? What Mac do you have?

I have Mac Pro and I am connected via ethernet (ADSL connection).

Even though you aren't connected via modem, I believe that this also applies to dsl. (seen this on apple discussion board)

Open System Preferences and click Network.
Choose your modem port (internal or external) from the Show pop-up menu, then click PPP Options.
Click the "Disconnect if idle for __ minutes" checkbox to deselect this option, or increase the number of minutes.
