I recently upgraded from a Power Mac (running OS-6) to a Mac Mini (running Yosemite). I am puzzled why my two 1-TB internal drives do not show up on the desktop. Is this a new feature of Yosemite? If it is, I don't like it. I have to open a folder on my dock and back-track to get to my drives.

Open Finder, Preferences and then General. Check that there is a check mark beside "Hard disks" as well as anything else you wan to see. While there, check the Sidebar Tab and do the same.

That did it, Jake. Thanks so much. I was totally overlooking the Finder preferences and was searching all around the System preferences. Really appreciate it.
