In MS Word for Mac, how do I stop an update notice when I've already updated?

I'm using the latest version of Pages (11.0) which Lori can not use because she's not running Big Sur. However, even earlier versions of Pages support what she's trying to do. I've used versions of Pages from iWork 08 until the current version.

I'm also not understanding why Lori is unable to make that work as two column sorting is supported by Pages. It's just a matter of using the column option rather than setting up margins.

There are many options in Pages that are very similiar to MS Word. It's just a matter of experimenting and finding what works. I can do most everything with my Pages documents as I can with Word. There are exceptions of course but unless you have complex documents to work with, Pages works well.
hmmm two column sorting you say should work?? so using column option vs margins... will make a look.
in Word I would type out a long list of my items, then make two columns and sort them. that is what I am trying to achieve in Pages. I opened word doc, saved as pages and tried to edit but would not work. maybe I need to create a totally new pages doc and paste my columns there. will try a few more things.
thnx for your tips

great news... partially anyway. I was having issues with the annoying pop up for updates in my word. and that Word was opening so slowly. that led me to try out Pages... which seemed to work ok.
I contacted MS tech support and they helped tremendously. I had to manually uninstall Office 2016 and re install it. Oh I still have that annoying banner for updates...but the response time for opening is just as it was before.
SO ill be sticking with Word for now.
