iMovie HD, audio not working?

When I imported clips from my digital camera (.mpg) they imported in the program fine but they dont play any volume? Why is there no audio when I import it and then play it back in this program? I used to use Windows Movie Maker for simple editing which I now want to do on my Mac.

I also had this problem, but it was reversed... I had audio but no image. Look on the box of your camera to see if it is Mac OS X Compatible, mine wasn't. I returned it and got a new camera.

If you can't return it, bummer.... there may be a setting on your camera to record movies in a different format like .avi

look in the video timeline - there should be little checkbox to the right of it. If not, click the clock icon above the top right of the timeline.

Make sure the checkbox is ticked - the checkbox controls muting that track.

If it is ticked and the sounds still doesn't work. I dunno.
