imovie for non experts?

I've been trying for days to create a small movie with photos and videos from my iphoto library but no success. The only snips that who in my movie are an old video I tried once for practising. Any ideas where I can find a few tipps how to start a movie? the help section is hopeless.

Not to suggest the obvious. But have you tried an internet search/Google?

Hi Nick, thanks, yes I did , and found some nice youtubes on the subject. But the problem remains: all my new projects, events or whatever I may start have those endless practice videos in, and imovie doesn't allow me to import photos from my iphoto library, which makes it kind of hard, since that's where all my videos and photos live... jj
