Imac wont eject cd

NEED HELP My Imac 27 will not eject cd. When click on cd icon rainbow wheel runs continuously.

'24 14"M4Pro MBP 14/20; '23 M2Pro Mac Mini both MacOS 15.1; iPhone 15PM (iOS 18); iPad Air (iPOS 18)
drag and drop the cd icon to the eject icon in your dock (it'll be at the bottom right). Failing that, press the eject button on your keyboard - top left key)

This is an oft asked question, so a search of the forum might help; plus, there are numerous hits if a little googling is done, such as This One - let us know if Nick's suggestions or any of the additional maneuvers in the link help. Also, curious if the disc has a 'paper label' which can be a potential mess in a slot-loading optical drive. Dave :)
