Hi everyone,

I just joined this forum and hope to learn a lot more in depth of the computer i own. i do a lot of video editing so my concerns will mainly revolve around that general area.

I was wondering if upgrading to 8 gigs of ram would be something that would be a noticeable difference in rendering speeds in Final Cut Pro 7?

I shoot with a sony NX5U professional camcorder that shoots to the AVCHD codec which could be a bit rough to work with in post here and there. i also work with adobe after effects and notice a bit of lag in that application..

What are your guys thoughts?

here are the specs of my iMac:

Thanks in advance,
macman

Your Mac's Specs
Black MacBook 2.2GHz C2D, 4GB Ram - iMac G4 700MHz, 512MB Ram
8GB of ram should help with rendering speeds, and overall performance. Especially if you are noticing a slowdown with multiple apps open.
