The iMac G3 will take any mouse and keyboard providing it's usb, even my Razer Lachesis(of which was worth 3X what I paid for the machine) worked with mine.

Keep watching auction sites such as eBay. Original coloured keyboards and matching hockey mice do come up from time to time. They do look very attractive with the originals.

Agreed. Honestly, does the OP really want an original G3 usb keyboard? Not wishing to be negative, but after years of use they become terribly clunky - and those black keys :Grimmace:! A white eMac k'board could be a bit better. I'd gladly donate mine if I lived in the UK.

For myself, I'll have a generic usb keyboard over an Apple one any day. The only things that might be missed are the two usb ports, but they're light duty only.

I certainly agree that old keyboards can get pretty cruddy with "finger cheese" and food particles in the keyboard...maybe the OP isn't just looking for "any old" USB keyboard...maybe they're looking for a matching set.

iMac G3 keyboard & "hockey puck" mouse...to go along with an iMac G3.:)

The keyboard I can understand, as it's not a bad keyboard in my opinion and I like the extra USB, But the mouse...No. You do NOT want a hockey puck mouse. I have one with my iMac G3 and I just don't like it. It always winds up going sideways because it's so round and small, which of course means your cursor seems like it has a mind of it's own, until you realize...oh..the mouse is sideways...AGAIN. But I think the thing I hate the most is the lack of scroll feature. I don't like having to go to the little arrow on the side of a web page every time I want to scroll! HOCKEY PUCK = BAD Would you rather have the original look, or have a mouse that you don't wanna throw across the room?
...
So there's a mini review of the Hockey Puck Mouse. :p I suppose it's better than nothing, but not by much. ;)

I agree that the "hockey puck" mouse is a TERRIBLE mouse. But if the OP's goal is to have all original hardware that came with an iMac G3...then a hockey puck mouse is the ONLY mouse that will do...same thing.with the iMac G3 keyboard.

It's a complete set:

- iMac G3
- iMac G3 keyboard
- iMac G3 "hockey puck" mouse

It's just like if someone wanted to collect all the player baseball cards from the 2009 World Series champion New York Yankees. A card from 2005 just won't do!;)

I know, that's the only mouse that will complete the set. But I still don't like it. ;)

We have a goodwill computer shop in Houston and they have a ton of hockey puck mice, if you want one. I can get one and send it to you for cost+shipping (no profit to me), if you want. I'll have to check on price, though. I think it's probably a few bucks $U.S.

PM me if you're interested.

Edit: Now that I think about it, there may even be one or two g3 keyboards that I saw there this weekend, but I'm not sure.

I'm also after an iMac G3 keyboard. One that looks like this:

imac-usb-480.jpg

I don't want a mouse. I just want the keyboard because they are one of the best for making a Dvorak keyboard as the letters are all the same height and pop out easily. If anyone has one or knows how I can obtain one (I am in the UK), please get in touch ASAP!

I'll keep my eye out when I'm at the goodwill shop, again. I'll probably try to swing by there this weekend or next.

Ok. Went to the goodwill shop and they had the following mac items available (I excluded some old junk):

Several hockey pucks for $6 each.
One clear full size keyboard (not sure if this is for power mac or emac. has two usb ports on the back side). $10.
A full setup with a 500mhz G4 powermac cube with 17in studio display with keyboard and mouse. Listed at $150, but they told me it's $100 at the counter. I almost got this one for myself.
