hi guys

I dunno if any of you on here can help.

I have 2 identical late 2013 iMac's they are both 27"

but one has the system firmware version : 431.0.0.0.0
and the other has system firmware version : 431.140.6.0.0

does anybody have an idea on which one is the latest / if I can update them to the same firmware ?

thanks

I would like to know the answer to this question as well. I have a mid – 2011 imac 27 inch and a late – 2014 27 inch iMac, and have been looking for the same type of updates. Maybe someone will respond.
Best, Seth

hi seth

I doubt we can get the firmware updates manually.

from what ive been reading the best option is to try reinstalling Catalina again.

which I have done now 3 times lol

and its not getting a firmware update for me.

I'm not an expert on Silent Knight, but on my MBP, when it's launched, the top bar of the screen has the usual list of items. One of them is File, and under that are some actions, including two for Install. SKmenu1.jpg
and under the Silent Knight bar is this menu to set it to do installs automatically:

The image got chopped on the left, but you can see the items. As I said, I'm no expert on SK, so that's about all I can suggest. What I have seen is that when SK detects out of date for any item it has offered to install it for me. I've not had to try that for the Firmware. You might read the documentation that came with the install zip file. I've discarded mine, sorry. Howard Oakley is the developer, you might go to his Eclectic Light Co website and see if you can find any comments in the articles on SK there.

hi again

well I installed updates through silent night.

and now my firmware reports that its on version 432.60.3.0.0

so its on its current one now.

I did have to install Catalina to do so.

but that's no issues I have a back up of the system anyway

so thanks for the reply and link

it worked wonders...

That’s the answer I expected, as firmware updates would come with reinstallation of the macOS from a commander install. Thank you for the reply. Best, Seth
