iMac 24 as Monitor - Please Help

My 24" iMac died last week - took it to the genius bar and the guy told me the logic board and harddrive has failed Would cost me 900bucks to fix it

I have a laptop (windows 7) - I was wondering if I can use my iMac as an external monitor for the laptop. Please let me know how to connect the windows laptop to my imac - what sort of cable is needed etc.
