iCoud question

Hello everyone, here is my question.
If a person has a document on her Macbrook Pro would it be saved in iCloud? And if so, should that person be able to see it on their iPad? This also goes for visaversa.

Only if you are using software that saves the document to iCloud.

As of the introduction of iCloud Drive in Yosemite, any software the standard OS X save dialog should be able to save to iCloud Drive. But almost nothing does so automatically; it's up to you to choose where you want to save it. You can save it your local drive, or to iCloud Drive. Entirely up to you.

Once a document is available on iCloud Drive, you should also be able to see it on your iPad **provided** you open a program that can read the file and has iCloud Drive support included. For example, if you do a Pages document on a Mac and save it to iCloud Drive, your iPad's copy of iOS Pages will be able to see the document by default.

I understand there is now an app on the App Store that will let you access the contents of iCloud Drive like a file browser, but of course you still need a program compatible with the file on your iPad to really use it. Luckily, most of the most common file types are accessible.
