I subscribed to the iCloud+ individual plan, it appears on my iPhone as an active subscription, Haven't been able to see anything different with mail, on either my iPhone or on my MacBook Pro running Catalina. I am guessing it is active on both devices?

iCloud+ gives you the features described here. However, there is a "individual plan" for it, Apple One does have an individual plan and gives you access to the Music, TV+, Arcade and iCloud+ with 50GB of storage.

Which thing are you specifically referring to?
