I know it's better to wait till Yosemite comes out to sign up to icloud drive as it doesn't work with Mavericks on my macbook. But what will happen with my old mac mini which is stuck on Lion? Can't use icloud drive with it,or (probably)the new photos app which I believe is coming next year. Will the mac mini still be able to use photo stream after I sign up to icloud drive? I like to view my photos on the widesceen tv the mac mini is attached to.but will the photos taken with iphone after i'm on icloud drive still show up on photo stream on iphoto ,on the mac mini? Or will they only be viewable on hardware that"s using icloud drive?
Hope my questions aren't too confusing!

Doesn't anyone have any ideas about this?Basically I just want to know if photo stream on old mac mini will still "work",as in showing all photos from ipad, iphone and macbook once yosemite is out and I sign up to the new icloud drive.

Your Mac Mini will be unable to use photo stream. As for your MacBook, since you didn't provide any information regarding it, I'll refer you to the Apple Article on iCloud. LINK

I had a look at the article,it more or less tells me what i already knew.My macbook is a mid 2010 running mavericks which I will be able to upgrade to yosemite. My mac mini is running Lion and I always could use photo stream on it,as it says in the article.I know icloud drive can't be used with it as I can't upgrade from Lion.So you are saying I won't any longer be able to use photo stream on it once I sign up to icloud drive?Do you see where the confusion comes in?Or am I being a bit dim!

No, I think you have it right. Maybe someone else can offer a better outlook on what will happen when Yosemite goes live along with the new iCloud Drive.
