ichatav beta 2.1

It appears as though apple has launched a new version of ichatav - the ichatav beta 2.1 which enables mac and pc users to communicate with one another. Previously it was just mac-to-mac users that had this capability. Has any one out there tried the 2.1 version? Does it work as well as Apple claims?
