It's been rumored that Apple will release new MacBook Pros soon but there is no definite date. You can always upgrade RAM to the maximum the computer will allow but the graphics card is permanent and not upgradable on a laptop. It's your choice whether you want to wait or not.

X2

If you can wait, then just wait.. I know that can be hard, but it could be worth the wait.

any one know.how long i will wait?any specific data
If someone knew that answer then you would have heard an official announcement from Apple or the person you are talking to is Steve Jobs. ;)

No one knows which is why I said it's rumored to be released. Everyone is making guesses as to the date. Apple likes being secretive so the only way the public will know for sure is when they are officially announced and released by Apple. It's been rumored between now to June is the release date but remember that's just rumor.

This is why I don't wait until I desperately need a computer to get one. When you are not desperate for a new computer then you can easily wait. I'm speaking generally and not specifically to you.

There is no specific data. Could happen tomorrow, could happen six months from now. Ask anyone who's waiting on a new Mac Pro -- chances are they've been waiting 2-3 YEARS and *still* no sign of it.

If you need one, buy one. Stop playing the waiting game, it's a game for suckers.

The used Mac market is insanely healthy for recent models, if you bought one today and then two weeks from now they update the line, you could sell yours for 90% of what you paid for it and move on with your life. It's just silly to be paralyzed into inaction if you actually need a computer.

Besides, who says the new ones will be THAT much better anyway? Might just be a minor speed bump -- is that worth waiting months for?

Here's what I think.... If you desperately need a laptop now, get one now. If you don't really need one, but only really want one, then wait. Reasoning:

The resale value of MacBook Pros always manages to remain very high. So if you really feel you need a new one when they come out, you can sell your current one for near what you bought it for if you keep it in perfect shape. It will still have the standard warranty and will be able to receive Apple Care. That's a great selling point. In fact, if they release them before August, I'll probably sell the 13" MacBook pro from which I'm typing on right now. I would much rather have a 15" Matte screen MBP like my other 15" from 2008.

they wouldn't announce any new models now cause it would overshadow the ipad.
i'd think they'd wait till their WWDC conference to announce new models since then the ipad has been out long enough that its safe to talk about their laptop line

Rumors are flying around now more than ever for next week if you waited this long
may as well wait but I can say that I have thouroughly enjoyed mine since December
the new trackpad and coming with 4g of ram probably made the most difference not to
mention the screen looks better than my 4 yr old unit did.
