I seek opinion on this LG Monitor for my MacBook Air M1 2020

Something to consider regarding usb c monitor inputs, I have the LG but the 43” IPS and I use just a usb c cable no hdmi, but if your monitor supports it, my usb c cable not only provides great connection but also charges the MacBook Pro through the same cable.

Just leave it off. I believe this was also suggested by several people who left reviews for that monitor on Amazon.

I haven't heard of any over-heating complaints from users of any Apple Silicon-based laptops. In fact, one of the big advantages of Apple Silicon is supposed to be how cool it runs, with no thermal throttling necessary.

However, if it concerns you, you can run one of the utilities that monitors the temperatures of your laptop's various components.

The Samsung U28R550UQC does not have a USB-C input, nor does it have a built-in USB-C hub. Indeed, very few monitors do other than the most expensive models. HDMI is the de facto standard for computer monitor input these days. The Samsung U28R550UQC has two HDMI inputs and one DisplayPort input.

Yes that's correct. My original choice (LG) didn't have it either at twice the price of the Samsung which is why I deferred to your recommendation

I didn’t know if the monitor in question had usb c or not, they are starting to get a little more common as time goes on, I see a bunch of cheap monitors on Amazon with usb c, just thought I’d pipe in as I love the convenience of that connection with a MacBook and charging. (Not to mention the hub)
