Hi,
I have the imac with power PC 800mhz processor, memory 768MB. 80 gig HD plus external HD for video storage.
I have just moved to OSX, and I-movie 3 - I am making wedding videos on I-movie, so i bought all the slick transitions in the series and I have installed them also. each movie is about 20 minutes long, about 8 - 10 gig.
I cannot believe how SLOW this machine is, compared to My G4 Power PC, which is lower in processor speed, memory, and has all the same slick transitions installed, BUT I am using OS9.2...I have no problems there but I want to move to OSX and I-movie 3 on the I-mac for obvious reasons.....
When I want to do the most simple thing in I-Movie such as select a clip, move backwards and forwards, or basically ANY action, I have to wait a few (3 to 15) seconds every time...I get the coloured spinning wheel, it is so unbelievably frustrating....my G4 has no problems, so i just don't know how to solve the problem.....is it my computer, or OSX, or I-movie 3? I don't know where to start, I have just bought final cut pro express and i am so scared it will be the same.....HEEEELLLLP!
Tx, Sue
